10 things that I plan on opening or making sure it stays open

  1. My Heart – I want to have my heart always open. No matter how many times it gets broken, bruised or turned into a pulp.  Loving is still one of the best things in life.
  2. My Mind – I want to always have an open mind to differences and new opportunities.  Don’t dismiss or judge people or situations just because they are different.  I want to step in their shoes and realize that we are probably more similar then different.  I want to give each and every new opportunity a chance.
  3. My Soul – I want to have my soul open so I can listen to it and it can listen to the world.  I want to be one with the universe of my soul.  I want to be in touch with my soul.  I want to feed my soul with acts of kindness towards others, with reading enlightening materials, with paying attention to the beauty in the smallest details.
  4. My Arms – I want to have my arms always open to offer and receive a hug. Human touch is one of the best commodities in the world – Much needed, always available, but not used often enough. Sometimes all someone/I need is a hug.
  5. My Front Door – I want to have my front door open not only to all my current friends, but also to news ones I hope to make. I want to be less closed off and less of a loner.  I love being alone, but I want to start appreciating other’s company more. And I hope to go through people’s front door more often.
  6. The Car Door – I want go out more, experience more.  Get in the car and drive a different route, notice a different beauty. Live!
  7. Books – I want to read more and more.  I want to stop buying books and letting them sit around decorating the bookshelf.  I want to read, grow and share.
  8. My Memory – I want to always have my memory open to all the blessings I was given in this life.  I don’t want to forget all the goodness that is given to me every single day. My memory is a constant reminder of how I have been blessed and how my life keeps getting better and better.
  9. My mouth – I want to open my mouth any time I see injustice, any time I can step in and help someone.  Please God don’t let me be silent when I can speak up and do good!  I want to have my mouth open any time I can sooth someone with kind words. (ok, ok, my mouth would like to be open to receive and give an nice romantic kiss!!)
  10. My Schedule – I want to have openings in my schedule to fit new adventures, to have time to stop and smell the flowers, to volunteer, to help friends, to love, and to sometimes do nothing and just stare out of the open window.

What are planning to open or to make sure it never closes?

About A Star on the Forehead

I am a single 46 year woman, eager to live a full life. Trying to rebuild life after a breakup with someone that I thought was "The One". Will take classes and chances, will take tumbles and get up, and register it all here for good or bad, but always for a good laugh or cry!! I want to write to inspire but more than that I want to write to be inspired!!

  6. Great post. I like the ‘list’ concept. Very clever.

  7. As i read your list i was touched deeply by the sincerity and strength in your powerful words along with the peace and serenity they now embraced! It made my heart smile…because i felt your spirit! I saw renewal beginning, along with a new joy and a new fire within to improve all facets of your life. Within all of that i saw that your heart has already been made perfect…to share all of your knowledge to others. You reminded me of a poem..I wrote and it fits you perfectly for i know your heart talks to the Lord, morning, noon and night! Thanks for always visiting my site and blessing my poems!.

    Renewal

Each morning I rise before You
While on my knees I call your name
While lifting you up dear lord in praise
Inside I will never again be the same

For the light within shines brighter
Than the radiance of the new days sun
And my heart is lifted by your grace
Pointing to the place my spirit has won

And those who I see around me
From their hearts do lift your name in praise
For they now do happily serve you
Their mighty king of endless days

And their voices make a grand crescendo
As the heavens shake with a tumultuous joy
And all this day who love you true
Display all the feelings their hearts employ

And you my lord have given me the sight
The vision to see how true happiness is to be
When one day I am taken from my cell of flesh
And within heavens bliss I may walk free.

    Wendell A. Brown

    • Hi Wendell. Thank you so much for your words and for the poem. The words are beautiful. Renewal has been a tough process. This evening especially has me upset with one phone call that I received from a person that seems to take my good energy away. It left me unsettled and shook my confidence and my ability to remain in the right path and on the decisions I made. But I took a moment and looked up to God for strength and guidance, and I know He will never fail me. Thank you for blessing me with the inspiring poem. It will be treasured!
